AMENDMENTS TO THE NATIONAL WASTE INFORMATION REGULATIONS & NOTICE OF INTENTION TO REQUIRE WASTE TRANSPORTERS TO REGISTER MacRobert wishes to draw your attention to the following important notice
Waste information regulations The Minister of Environmental Affairs has, in terms of sections 69(1)(y), (t), (aa) and (ee) read with sections 27 and 73 of the NEM:WA, given notice of her intention to make amendments to the National Waste Information Regulations, 2012 as set out in the schedule to the notice. The proposed amendments, inter alia, provide that they will not apply to residue stockpiles or residue deposits. Members of the public are invited to submit written comments within 30 days of publication of this notice (i.e. on or before 11 January 2017.) Waste transporters The Minister of Environmental Affairs has, in terms of section 25(1) read with sections 72 and 73 of the NEM:WA, given notice of her intention to require any person or category of persons who transports waste for gain to register with the Department in accordance with the provisions as set out in the schedule to this notice. Members of the public are invited to submit written comments within 30 days of publication of this notice (i.e. on or before 11 January 2017.)
